A Headstart On Being A Teenager

Hannah's watching Mulan II for the upteenth time, but we're letting her get away with it because she's under the weather. She's also kicking the arm of the couch, though, and I'm not about to let her get away with that.

"Hannah, stop kicking the couch."

No response.

"Hannah," I repeat myself with a bit more emphasis, "stop kicking the couch or I'll turn it off!"

She turns to me and says, dripping with sarcasm, "Turn off the couch?"

"No, turn off the TV."

"Why don't you just turn off the couch?"

You could always retort with, "Why I don't I turn off your allowance."
